Theresa, RVT, Head Veterinary Technician, Registered Veterinary Technician   Theresa began working at Agoura Animal Clinic in 2002 as a veterinary assistant. She graduated from Los Angeles Pierce College with an AS in Registered Veterinary Technology/Animal Science in 2004. Theresa then took and passed her CA RVT board exam in May of 2005, as well as the National Veterinary Technician exam. She has always had a passion for animals and a career in the animal care field came naturally to her. Theresa has 3 dogs (Bob, Santos and Rosa) and a chinchilla named George. In her spare time, Theresa can be found on the snowy peaks of our local mountains, the greens of a golf course or cuddled up with her son Lincoln reading a bedtime story.
Jennifer, Senior Veterinary Assistant Jennifer started working at Agoura Animal Clinic as a Veterinary Assistant in 1990.  Her education has been gained throughout 19 years of full-time work and dedication to this hospital.  She chose this field because even at a very young age she knew that she loved animals.  In the 6th grade she was asked to guess what she might be when she grew up -- she wrote down "veterinarian."  Jennifer has 3 pets: Baron, a Maine Coon; Ringo, a Ragdoll; and Smiley, her Leopard Gecco.  In her free time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her friends, family and animals.  She loves being outdoors whether in sun or snow, listening to music, rooting for the LA Lakers and traveling.
Fern, Registered Veterinary Technician Fern is a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She obtained her license in July of 2006 after receiving her Associate Degree in Applied Animal Technology from Pierce College.  Fern chose the veterinary field because of her love of animals and the desire to give back to the community.  She gets great satisfaction in helping clients maintain their special bonds with their animals by keeping them happy and healthy!! She's been employed by Agoura Animal Clinic since 2004.
Susan, Veterinary Assistant Susan has been a part of the Agoura Animal Clinic family for over 20 years.  Her passion is to help animals as she sees them as an important part of the family.  Susan enjoys collecting stamps and watching DVD's with her kitty Buttercup.
Michelle, Veterinary Assistant Michelle has been around Agoura Animal Clinic for her whole life.  She started volunteering at a very early age, and became a “real” employee when she turned 14.  She enjoys working with the various animals and clients at the clinic, and her family has 2 dogs-- Mollie, a Golden Retriever, and Homer, a yellow Labrador Retriever.  Michelle is very excited to have a dog of her very own some day soon! Michelle recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with her Master of Social Work degree.  She works as a receptionist and veterinary assistant at Agoura Animal Clinic when visiting her family, and plans to practice in the child welfare system once she moves back to California permanently.
Shannon C., Veterinary Assistant Shannon has been working at Agoura Animal Clinic since 2007.  Since both of her parents are veterinarians, she has grown up learning about and experiencing the animal care profession and veterinary medicine.  Shannon has had a deep love of animals since she was a little girl, and her many childhood pets sparked her interest in animal care.  Currently she owns nine pets: two Border Collies named Luke and Lorelai; two Pugs named Betty Boop and Saké; a cat named Leo; a rabbit named Emma; and three finches.  Outside of Agoura Animal Clinic, Shannon attends high school, and in her spare time she works in graphic design and rides horses.
Julia, Veterinary Assistant Julia volunteered for Rescue Me Pet Adoptions for two years beginning in 2000 fostering cats and kittens.  In January 2006, she began work at the Bird Rescue Center of Sonoma County for two years while attending Sonoma State University rehabilitating injured, ill, and orphaned wild birds.  Julia received her Bachelors degree in biology and is currently enrolled in Pierce College's RVT program, expecting to graduate in December 2013.  She has fostered cats/kittens, supervised the Bird Rescue Center, and was a kennel assistant at an animal clinic briefly before coming to Agoura Animal Clinic.  Julia has always been an animal lover, gravitating toward biology in college, developing an interest in wildlife conservation while working at the Bird Rescue Center.  She chose to become a RVT to further her knowledge and gain skills to help provide quality care and enrich lives of animals. Julia's pets are "Aang", a short haired orange tabby, and "Zuko", a Russian Blue cat, who were both adopted as kittens in 2012.  In her spare time Julia can be found appreciating wildlife and nature, hiking, camping, snowboarding, playing the piano, spending time with friend and family, enjoying music (especially live), going out to the movies, going to the beach, and traveling.
Fernando, Veterinary Assistant Fernando has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years now. His passion for animal care began when he started his first veterinary assistant job in Burbank, CA. His best friend was a veterinarian who brought him into the world of animal care. Since the start of his position, Fernando has learned many skills for treating animals. Fernando has one 8 year old golden retriever named Nugget. In Fernando’s spare time, he enjoys walking Nugget around the neighborhood park.
Collin, Veterinary Assistant Collin joined the AAC family in August  of 2016. Collin’s career in the veterinary field began when he worked as a supervisor for a canine daycare center. A native to the area, Collin enjoys going to concerts and hanging out with friends, family, and his pets in his free time. Collin is the proud owner of two animals - an English Mastiff and Pitbull mix named Remi and a crazy cat named Mow Mow.
Marissa, Veterinary Assistant Marissa has had a passion for ALL types of animals since she was a little girl. She got her first job as a veterinary assistant at the age of 16, and now has over a decade of experience in the field. She has been a proud pet owner in over the years to a diabetic guinea pig, a variety of snakes, lizards, a gecko, a tortoise and birds.  She adopted her pitbull, Jhade, 10 years ago when she was abandoned as a puppy on the doorstep of her first place of employment. Marissa is also a very proud momma to her young daughter, Celeste, and she enjoys spending time with her family and going hiking.

Avery, Veterinary Assistant Avery joined the AAC team in 2017! He is the proud pet parent of 2 1/2 dogs, and 1/2 of a cat (he doesn’t truly think his cat knows he’s a cat, and not a dog, but it makes him so much cooler!). Avery has always loved animals, but throughout his career, he has been particularly drawn to the scared and nervous pets. He feels it takes patience and understanding to work with them, which are two traits that he feels are especially important to have as a technician. Avery loves sports and has practiced basketball, football, and has been on his high school’s swim team, and he is also a great music aficionado!
Sonia, Veterinary Assistant Sonia has been in the veterinary field since 2005, and simply could not imagine doing anything else. She has always loved all animals since she was a little girl, and brought home every stray cat she could find.  She has extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and surgical assisting, and her true passion lies in the nursing and anesthetic care of all these patients. She has found these cases to be especially rewarding. When not at the clinic, Sonia enjoys watching great films, restaurant hunting, cooking new recipes, and reading. She also loves outdoor activities like camping, hiking, swimming and body surfing. She enjoys all these things with her wonderful husband Ruben and her very energetic puppy named Ruby.
Tesia - Veterinary Assistant Since childhood, Tesia has always known that she wanted to work with animals. After her family got their first dog when Tesia was five years old, she decided that she wanted to be a veterinarian. As she got older, her love and passion for animals only grew. Since then, she has let this passion drive her career, and she cannot imagine doing anything else! She is a pre-veterinary student at Pierce College, from which she will soon graduate! When Tesia is not at school or working, she enjoys sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, cosplaying, and attending comic conventions. She has two cats named Nyx and Remington, who she personally rescued and are her babies, and one dog, Amber, who was her late mother’s. She will always fondly remember her first dog, Sean, because he initially inspired her to work in the veterinary field!
Sandy, Veterinary Assistant Sandy entered the veterinary field in 2009, where she began as a receptionist at a small clinic in West Hills. Shortly thereafter, she began as a veterinary assistant at the same clinic, where she began learning about medical treatment, pet nutrition, and animal behavior. Sandy enjoys the fast pace of working in an animal hospital, and her passion is exotic animal care. In 2014, Sandy earned her cosmetology license and worked in a salon for a period of time, but ultimately missed the veterinary field and realized that this was the industry in which she belonged.
Rosie, Veterinary Assistant Rosie’s passion and love toward all animals started at a young age. Throughout her lifetime, she has owned dogs, fish, an African Grey parrot, a rooster, chickens, hamsters, and cockatiels! Rosie joined the veterinary industry in 2016, and became part of the AAC team in September of 2017. She is currently attending Pierce College and is studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her two biggest passions in life are caring for animals and she is also an avid truck enthusiast! Rosie lives in Oxnard, where she enjoys sunny days at the beach with her family and her dog, Tiny! Rosie also loves traveling to different cities and states to attend truck shows with her friends.
