Julia, Veterinary Assistant Julia volunteered for Rescue Me Pet Adoptions for two years beginning in 2000 fostering cats and kittens.  In January 2006, she began work at the Bird Rescue Center of Sonoma County for two years while attending Sonoma State University rehabilitating injured, ill, and orphaned wild birds.  Julia received her Bachelors degree in biology and is currently enrolled in Pierce College's RVT program, expecting to graduate in December 2013.  She has fostered cats/kittens, supervised the Bird Rescue Center, and was a kennel assistant at an animal clinic briefly before coming to Agoura Animal Clinic.  Julia has always been an animal lover, gravitating toward biology in college, developing an interest in wildlife conservation while working at the Bird Rescue Center.  She chose to become a RVT to further her knowledge and gain skills to help provide quality care and enrich lives of animals. Julia's pets are "Aang", a short haired orange tabby, and "Zuko", a Russian Blue cat, who were both adopted as kittens in 2012.  In her spare time Julia can be found appreciating wildlife and nature, hiking, camping, snowboarding, playing the piano, spending time with friend and family, enjoying music (especially live), going out to the movies, going to the beach, and traveling.

Avery, Senior Veterinary Assistant Avery joined the AAC team in 2017! He is the proud pet parent of 2 1/2 dogs, and 1/2 of a cat (he doesn’t truly think his cat knows he’s a cat, and not a dog, but it makes him so much cooler!). Avery has always loved animals, but throughout his career, he has been particularly drawn to the scared and nervous pets. He feels it takes patience and understanding to work with them, which are two traits that he feels are especially important to have as a technician. Avery loves sports and has practiced basketball, football, and has been on his high school’s swim team, and he is also a great music aficionado!
Sonia, Veterinary Assistant Sonia has been in the veterinary field since 2005, and simply could not imagine doing anything else. She has always loved all animals since she was a little girl, and brought home every stray cat she could find.  She has extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and surgical assisting, and her true passion lies in the nursing and anesthetic care of all these patients. She has found these cases to be especially rewarding. When not at the clinic, Sonia enjoys watching great films, restaurant hunting, cooking new recipes, and reading. She also loves outdoor activities like camping, hiking, swimming and body surfing. She enjoys all these things with her wonderful husband Ruben and her very energetic puppy named Ruby.
Tesia - Veterinary Assistant Since childhood, Tesia has always known that she wanted to work with animals. After her family got their first dog when Tesia was five years old, she decided that she wanted to be a veterinarian. As she got older, her love and passion for animals only grew. Since then, she has let this passion drive her career, and she cannot imagine doing anything else! She is a pre-veterinary student at Pierce College, from which she will soon graduate! When Tesia is not at school or working, she enjoys sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, cosplaying, and attending comic conventions. She has two cats named Nyx and Remington, who she personally rescued and are her babies, and one dog, Amber, who was her late mother’s. She will always fondly remember her first dog, Sean, because he initially inspired her to work in the veterinary field!
Sandy, Senior Veterinary Assistant Sandy entered the veterinary field in 2009, where she began as a receptionist at a small clinic in West Hills. Shortly thereafter, she began as a veterinary assistant at the same clinic, where she began learning about medical treatment, pet nutrition, and animal behavior. Sandy enjoys the fast pace of working in an animal hospital, and her passion is exotic animal care. In 2014, Sandy earned her cosmetology license and worked in a salon for a period of time, but ultimately missed the veterinary field and realized that this was the industry in which she belonged.
Taylor, Veterinary Assistant Taylor joined the Agoura Animal Clinic staff in April of 2017 while also going to school to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at California State University, Northridge. Taylor has years of experience in customer service and always strives to make each customer leave with a smile on his or her face! With a deep love for saving animals, Taylor hopes to continue her studies by attending veterinary school after graduating from CSUN. While she was growing up, Taylor always knew that working with animals was what she wanted to do. She spends most of her time with her beloved German Shepherd, Sasha. Taylor hopes to rescue more animals in the future to give them the loving home that they deserve!
Carolina, Veterinary Assistant Carolina has been in the veterinary field since 2010, where she began as a receptionist and slowly gravitated toward becoming a veterinary assistant. Lauren - Veterinary Assistant Lauren is a native of Philadelphia, but has called Southern California her home for several years now. She has successfully pursued her two big passions: dance and animals! Lauren worked as a professional dancer for decades until her love of furry friends became too strong to ignore.
